Inspiration Is Hard To Come By.

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all of my regular viewers. I have not written a blog for a couple of months and there are various different reasons for this:
1) When I began this blog, I was at school. Now I have left school and so also the computers that live there.
2) My phone refused to connect to my wifi at home, then when it did connect it wouldn't let me use this gmail account.
3) My iPad won't let me get the Blogger app because I haven't updated it...because I can't.
4) I have had no real inspiration for what to write other than my own poetry.

Inspiration is a pretty difficult thing to follow. Sometimes you don't really need to think to hard about it, for example my sister Heather once wrote a quick poem on the bus and won a poetry award for it. Other times your creative juices just won't flow.

My top tips for inspiration:
1) think outside the box, plenty of people have written about love, can you do something new with it that will make interesting reading?
2) don't procrastinate, when you have a good idea follow it through to the end
3) don't think too outside the box, if you're subject is too difficult then maybe think of a plan B because with the best will in the world, nothing rhymes with 'silver', 'orange' or 'purple' and it never will.
4) get out of the house and explore nature, its beautiful and in my opinion it's the most inspiring thing in the world!
5) look at both sides of the story, what kind of love is it? Is it between family, friends or lovers? Or if you're writing about something like religion, try to challenge yourself. Think of good things and bad things about it, don't just look at a subject from your personal view or you may alienate some readers.

Finally, let me tell you something that might help to inspire you, I once wrote a poem about writing a poem...and my teacher loved it and stuck it up in the classrooms to help the younger children to structure their writing (yes, I know I have a sad life, but I enjoy it).
